1. What We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the service, and limited technical data.

Account information: name, email address, and business name when you create an account.

Workshop data: job records, customer names and contact information, invoice data, technician records, and bay configurations that you enter into Meckify.

Usage data: pages visited, features used, and session duration — used to improve the product.

Payment data: billing name and address. Card details are handled by our payment processor (Paystack or Stripe) — we never see or store your card number.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Meckify platform
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send transactional emails (invoices, receipts, account alerts)
• Respond to support requests
• Send product updates and relevant announcements (you can opt out at any time)
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Sharing Your Data

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Meckify, our users, or the public.
• Business transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before this happens.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure located in the European Union and/or West Africa, depending on your account region. Data is encrypted both at rest and in transit.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss. These include:

• TLS encryption for all data in transit
• AES-256 encryption for data at rest
• Regular backups with point-in-time recovery
• Access controls limiting who on our team can access production data

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@meckify.com.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account closure, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for export, then permanently deleted.

Some data may be retained longer where required by law (e.g., financial records).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate data
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to export your data in a portable format
• The right to object to certain processing

8. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function (e.g., keeping you logged in). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the platform.

9. Children

Meckify is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
